The Charger College Guidance Office counsels and supports students as they plan with their families for their education journey beyond high school. Albuquerque Academy graduates are well-prepared to succeed at the best colleges and universities around the country because of our high academic standards, rigorous curriculum, and unique learning experiences. In recent years, the typical graduating class matriculates at over 85 colleges in 30 plus states and in other countries as well.
Full-time college advisers supervise a thorough plan of guidance over the course of three years for all students, including:
- Identifying suitable colleges
- Managing the application process (including taking appropriate standardized tests)
- Applying for need-based financial aid and/or merit scholarships
Students undertake the main work of researching, choosing, and applying to their top-choice colleges.
Parents also stay involved in the process during their students’ years at the Academy through an ongoing program of annual College Guidance presentations on admission, financial aid, financial planning, and course selection, as well as family sessions with the college advisers.
